Care Instructions for Your Wooden Décor
Caring for Your Laser-Cut Wooden Décor
Each piece from Laser by D.A.M. is handcrafted from premium wood and finished with care. With a little attention, your wooden décor and gifts will remain beautiful for years to come.
Cleaning
- Dust regularly with a soft, dry cloth or a clean, dry paintbrush — ideal for reaching intricate laser-cut details.
- For light marks, use a slightly damp cloth and dry immediately. Never soak or submerge wooden pieces in water.
- Avoid harsh chemical cleaners, sprays, or abrasive materials, which can damage the wood surface and finish.
Handling
- Handle your piece with clean, dry hands to prevent oils and moisture from transferring to the wood.
- When moving or repositioning wall pieces, support the full piece rather than gripping fine cut-out details, which can be delicate.
- Personalised engravings are permanent — treat engraved areas with the same gentle care as the rest of the piece.
Moisture & Humidity
- Wood is a natural material that responds to changes in humidity. Keep your pieces in a stable indoor environment.
- Avoid placing wooden décor in bathrooms, kitchens, or other high-humidity areas where steam or condensation is common.
- If condensation forms on a piece, gently pat dry with a soft cloth and allow it to air dry fully before displaying again.
Sunlight & Heat
- Prolonged direct sunlight can cause the wood to fade or warp over time. Display pieces away from south-facing windows or use UV-filtering window film.
- Keep wooden items away from radiators, open fires, and other direct heat sources, which can cause cracking or warping.
- A consistent room temperature between 15–22°C is ideal for preserving the integrity of your piece.
Long-Term Storage
- If storing a piece, wrap it in acid-free tissue paper and keep it in a cool, dry place away from direct light.
- Avoid plastic wrapping for extended storage, as this can trap moisture against the wood.
A Note on Natural Wood
Natural wood grain, subtle colour variation, and minor knots are characteristics of real wood — not imperfections. These unique qualities make each Laser by D.A.M. piece truly one of a kind.
